Watch the film

This documentary, filmed jointly between Modern Insurgent and Atlas News, takes you into the heart of Lebanon amidst the ongoing crisis. This on-the-ground report sheds light on the untold stories of Lebanon’s most vulnerable people – refugees, civilians, and militants – painting a vivid picture of a country where resilience meets division.

Filmed by Antoine Brimbal, Michael Archer, and Liam Coyle against the backdrop of a fragile political landscape and a looming crisis, Burning Cedars explores the diverse faces of a nation grappling with humanitarian, economic, and militant challenges. With unprecedented access to Hezbollah operations and the personal narratives of those affected, the film reveals the human stories often hidden behind the headlines. We were also the first international news crew to secure an interview with a Hezbollah commander in 2024 — recognition picked up by various distributors, including Andrew Callaghan’s Channel 5.
